National Instruments VXIpc-486 Model 599 Embedded Computer

The National Instruments NI VXIpc-486 Model 599 is the most powerful Embedded Computer from the VXIpc-486 Model 500 Series. This device comes with a 100 MHz microprocessor, internal storage, and RAM. By design, the NI VXIpc-486 Model 599 is an Embedded Computer that can operate in a standalone capacity. The incorporation of dedicated system memory makes this machine a powerful solution for a variety of monitoring, control, and testing applications.

The NI VXIpc-486 Model 599 supports multiple communication protocols and has a variety of interface connectors. This device supports different types of operating systems and can be accessed through multiple applications. National Instruments offers numerous specially designed software packages to be used with the Model 500 Series VXI Controllers.

The Model 500 Series VXI Controllers feature the Quadtel AT Compatible BIOS (basic input/output system). The devices are dispatched with fully configured BIOS. Users are also allowed to access BIOS for making necessary adjustments.

In its factory configuration, the NI VXIpc-486 Model 599 is configured to operate as a system controller. When configured to operate as a system controller, the device must be deployed in Slot 0 of the VXI chassis. However, you can configure your controller to assume another role as well. The availability of an External CLK10 connector allows this device to send or receive TTL-level signals according to the selected configuration. In factory configuration, the External CLK 10 remains disabled.

VXIpc-486 Model 599 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the embedded computer will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
